We did many things. My Grandfather made sure the animals were taken care of. Made sure there was plenty of food for the Animals. He continued to make sure the cows were milked every day. We kids would clean a path to the cow. My dad and us kids would make sure the chickens had water and food. We had 2000 Chickens. My dad made sure the well house would not freeze. My mother got the quilts out and filled the Kerosene lamps. And made plans of what we were going to eat. We had a nice wood stove, We had plenty of wood just outside the door in the dry. It also became the cook stove if the power was out. Never got cold in the house. Never went hungry. I treasury these experiences today. And I can can take care of my family today.

Filled the bathtub??? You mean the number 9 wash tub. The one used for everything front preparing foods, canning, washing clothes, bathing emergency nursery for baby animals? That tub
