"Sawing a Dam in Half (on Purpose)" as opposed to the classic blunder where you saw an entire dam in half by accident

Love that the ridiculous-seeming thumbnail is, in fact, a generally accurate summary of what's being done.

You always hear about infrastructure failures, you get a bias twords thinking routine maintinence and arising problems are always neglected. This video is a great example of when a problem arises people actually go out of their way to fix it like they should, which is nice to see and its just as interesting to learn about as the failures.

'Let's cut a slot in the dam' sounds like a throwaway idea tossed out during brainstorming.

Marine salvage engineer here. Diamond wire saw is my favorite toy. It’ll cut an entire ship in half if you need it to. What a champion cheat code.
