  I am JUST SO BORED of having to listen to 20 odd minutes of faff just to find out which to buy and which to avoid. Even speeding these videos up kills my brain cells😮‍💨

  It’s outrageous that shoppers pay premium prices for cans filled with additives, watery pulp, and misleading labels. Real tomatoes shouldn’t require detective work at the grocery store.

  I could not believe the difference when I tried Mutti for the first time. I buy no other brand now. They are delicious as a base for any dish and delicious just served on a slice of toast.

  I used to buy Italian brand whole plum tomatoes in juice in South Sfrica until we moved in with our son and daughter in.law, so no.longer cooking.  But when making a bolgnese sauce regularly I also often used a fresh tomato or two, chopped up in the mix.  Often here you get a tomato and onion mix in the supermarkets, whether own brand or a named brand - which I don't.like and have never used.  I do, or rather did, add  some chopped bacon to the initial frying of the onions before adding the tomatoes and lean minced beef, cooked slowly while at 1 hour choir practice.

  The acid in the additives erode the metal , that's why the bph coating is in the more expensive ones . But that's a forever chemical .

  Grow them at home and blitz them yourself. SO easy. Or bulk buy when cheap and in season. Bag and freeze.

  Team Mutti here. Relatively recent convert and yes, I won't be going back. Even when you open the tin the colour of the tomatoes looks so much more vivid than the standard brands. Much more expensive so I stock up when there are deals on. Their finely chopped tomatoes with basil have been a game-changer for my beef stews.

  In London I was using Cirio. In France I use Mutti. <br>Mutti blows Cirio out of the water.

  Ilive in France and I found a product at the supermarket Carrefour, tomato sauce made with french tomatos, not to expensive. Last year I started to freeze tomatos, cut in pieces, when the tomatos are less expensive in summer.

  I recently went to Aldi in Spain, and was surprised to find that their fresh meat, fruit and vegetables were noticeably much better quality than Aldi uk, and cheaper.
