Anyone who has kept bees knows bees leave their hives in in the winter, like the video says if it warms up to around 50 degrees the bees will come out to forage and empty their bowels, I have been growing some witch hazel for my bees, I’m excited to hear of another plant they can forage

I don’t plant it because we are surrounded with it. We live in Yacolt Washington in the forest near Mt. St. Helens and I have to prune the plants so I can mow around our house.

@9:30 "anything short of a hard freeze". For areas where January temps frequently are 20s and some upper teens will this still bloom? An occasional single digits?

Accoring to my AI, they are poisonous to humans, cattle, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, maybe rabbits, and even though I don't think bees are active in winter, I would think it would put toxins in honey.
