As a Brazilian, I'm kind of jealous of you guys. My country has nearly infinite natural resources, a continental-sized territory, and a population 40 times larger than Norway's. Yet we still struggle with government inefficiency, which causes many economic problems ,social instability and cultural decline . Norway is truly impressive. God bless your country!

Edit : the guys beat us up in the world Cup
(ノ-_-)ノ~┻━┻

My homeland, Greece, has specialised into creating one demigod every half thousand years. We are blessed to live in the grizzly era.

I am a teenage girl in norway, and let me tell you, what you are saying is completely true. I have played football for 10 years now, being coached mostly by my dad and other teammates dads. Before i was around 11 no one cared if we won, no one counted goals. This made football fun. But I can also say that playing other sports growing up has made me better, I did gymnastics, handball, theatre and skiing in the winter. All together is the Norwegian way built on volunteers (dugnad), little pressure in the beginning and opportunities for everyone.

The most significant factor why norwegians is so good at a variety of stuff - not only sports - is a cultural and societal choice we have made a long time ago and continue to make. Everybody has the possibility to learn a sport or an musical instrument or whatever they want. Inequality is kept low and everybody has the possibility to participate and learn a skill and pursue it as far as they can. This gives us a much bigger talent pool to choose from than other countries that lifts up the best ones only.

I am a teacher in Norway, way out in the boonies, and the sporting opportunities are still plenty. Take my recent 9th graders as an example. Almost the entire class plays for the local handball team. In addition, most of them spend every break at school playing football on our proper game sized artificial pitch. Now that they are old enough, almost all of them have gotten a gym membership to start lifting as well (not just the guys!). In school, we don't just have gym class, but also something we call FYSAK, which stands for physical activity. There are just so many chances to get moving, and doing different sports.
