  There has been a possible precedent. &nbsp;In 1980 (I know - I&apos;m old!), when I was working in Singapore a Bangladash Biman B707 had a quadriple engine &quot;failure&quot; just after take off from Paya Lebar airport . &nbsp;Fortunately the Captain managed to put the aircraft down on grass within the airfield boundary and although a gear up slide of some distance, there was no fire. &nbsp;As it happened a colleague of mine (also an LAE) was on board so I got a first hand story. &nbsp;There was no apparent yaw when the JT3 engines &quot;failed&quot;. This 707 was a Combi and he had already decided to go forward past the side of the cargo area to get out quickly rather than the passengers beginning to crowd the rear. &nbsp;He met the aircrew (3 inc. flight engineer) at the front end, also evacuating. &nbsp;The crew returned to their hotel and AFAIK made no report to journalists. &nbsp;Later that evening the flight engineer &quot;fell&quot; from his high floor hotel balcony and died instantly. &nbsp;The local press praised the captain (rightly in my our view) for saving the day, but apart from those like us, there was no discussion that I remember about how all four engines could shut down so positively at the same time. &nbsp;I have no recollection of any formal enquiry or conclusion but we assumed the FE had decided to take the aircraft down for his own reasons. &nbsp;The HP cocks were physically controlled by levers at the rear of the center console and to attempt an in-flight shut down of all four engines simultaneouosly could never be inadvertant. Now that the old levers, wires and rods have been replaced by remote gated switches it might be theoretically a little easier to shutdown two engines in flight, but surely it must be a concious action, and perhaps not too easy for the pilot flying? Any idea who made the mayday call? Did the CVR record &quot;did you&quot; or &quot;did he&quot; as quoted by the &nbsp;press today. &nbsp;Although no issue with the 707 accident, It wasn&apos;t particularly unusual to have unauthorised persons on the flight deck during takeoff or landing back in the 70&apos;s and 80&apos;s , but surely out of the question now?

  From a self-confessed total ignoramus concerning all matters aviation, &nbsp;(me!) can I just say an enormous THANK YOU for your total professionalism in the way you presented this and previous Livestreams when dealing with highly sensitive and emotive subjects. It is such a welcome contrast when compared with the &quot;populist&quot;, inaccurate and attention-seeking channels I have been watching concerning this truly horrific accident.<br>My thoughts and love go, along with yours, to all those affected by this dreadful tragedy.   The fact they didn&apos;t specify who said what is telling. You can bet the Indian authorities are doing a deep dive into these mens lives.
