Patrick doesn’t actually care about music, he thinks that’s what other people like. He’s basically an alien who watched a documentary called how humans act

Don’t worry boys, you’re supposed to be laughing throughout this movie, as there is definitely plenty of humor intentionally baked into it!

I fondly remember Christian Bale in an interview talking about the film saying something along the lines of, " if you're a sick bastard like me, you'll think it's hilarious"

When his lawyer said "i just had dinner with Paul Allen in London 10 days ago" it could have been yet another case of mistaken identity.

The Wiliam Dafoe scene in the office was filmed in three different ways: one where he knew, one where he had no idea, and one where he suspected something. In the end, they combined all the takes. Lol

While the lawyer having dinner with Paul Allen seems to confirm that Bateman imagined all the killing, it’s equally possibly that the lawyer had dinner with someone that he mistakenly thought was Paul Allen because all these guys look the same and dress the same.

"I have to return some video tapes" was sort of common to use as an excuse to get out of doing something you didn't wanna do because back in the day you actually had to go to the store, rent the tapes, and return them on time.

FYI the feminist thing is outrage at the incel movement completely misunderstanding this movie, also the book was written by a woman, and is of course a satire
