When Leo got killed……..you could literally hear a collective gasp and then stunned silence in the theater.

Whitey Bulger (who Frank is based on) was an absolute POS. He carved out his empire by playing the feds against state and local cops, and also against the Italians. Every time he felt the Mafia was coming for him, he'd tip off the FBI and they'd return the favor by warning him about investigations or indictments, which would inevitably lead to mountains of corpses. When he finally got caught decades later, his murder in prison was particularly gruesome. Nobody was surprised. He was technically a rat, a blood enemy of the Mafia, and had humiliated the FBI by turning two of their agents into criminals.

Highly recommend Gangs of New York as a period piece gangster movie.

Movie industry fell off a cliff after 2015. You get so few good movies these days.

I’d recommend L.A. Confidential. Stacked cast and amazing story.

You should do both Casino and Goodfellas. Why not? Extend the Mob-athon

Stunned silence in the cinema after the elevator scene. The injustice of it all! 😂

The interaction with the realtor is about him not being able to afford the place on his salary alone. The realtor was politely probing that before realizing he should stop asking questions.
