I'm from EU (Slovenia), I visited most of the European countries, but I have never ever seen a person to bag the items. And I have no idea why there would be one. It isn't hard thing to do.

Treating Europe as a country... Is disrespectful... More than 2500 years of history, cultures, wars, inventions, golden ages, renaissance, languages, shifting borders, etc. when I visit a country... I do research on language and culture... Show respect 😊

Here in Norway, or northern Europe in general, personal space is more often a huge thing, so it gets a bit annoying when people keep saying "In Europe there's no such thing as personal space".<br>A humorous example was back during Covid, when social distancing was relaxed, there was a meme going around; "Finally the social distancing of 1 meter is over, we can go back to the usual 5 meters".
