This place, this damned tower, was the only thing that had been on his mind since departing the capital a few weeks back. Now that he is standing here, he is feeling less certain about everything. He knows Lyanna is there; it has to be the only place left where Rhaegar might hide her. But he also knows that she isn’t the only one there. Ser Arthur and Oswell, as well as their Lord Commander, the White Bull, weren’t in the Trident or King’s Landing. That means they must be here. It appears we have something you want, but you have nothing we desire. Ned: No? Is that the case? I did not realize the Tower of Joy was so well furnished that you should want for nothing. Gerold: It has food, water, and our duty. That is enough for the knights of the Kingsguard. Ned: The Kingsguard, but with no king. Gerold: Scoffs. That is what you think. Ned: Enough. I have no desire to debate you on this issue. I have come here because I want my sister. I know she is here, and I am not leaving until I have her. Even if it means fighting through all of you. Gerold: That is not something one should ask lightly of. Ned: I am asking nothing. I said I am prepared to do it, but I would prefer things to end peacefully. Sers. Your king is dead, as is Rhaegar. But Ser Arthur steps forward and raises his hand. Then, he pulls off his helmet, staring at need with those deep eyes of his. There is a sorrowful smile on his face before he releases his grip on Dawn. He gestures for the others to do the same. Arthur Dayne: I would have done the same thing if it were my sister in this tower, Lord Stark. You are right. I cannot fault you for what you are trying to do. I do not think you are a villain, but if we are to let you in, you must know what is happening. Ned begins to nod and gestures for him to continue.
