As a 2/7 marine who was in Helmand, I鈥檓 proud to be apart of a battle hardened unit. Marine corps prides itself on honor, tradition and bloodshed. 2/7 is the frozen chosin, I still carry that to this day even though I wasn鈥檛 there. All marines are my brothers

Worked with 5th Marines at An Hoa and 7th at Hill 55 in late '69 and '70 - Arizona Territory, Que Sons, Antenna Valley, Go Noi Island, LZs Ross and Baldy, Liberty Bridge, Phu Loc 6, Hill 65, Base Area 511... Semper Fi to all.

L/Cpl Hurtado was with F 2/7 and received the Silver Star trying to save his fellow marines. He was with Echo 2/5 prior. He was KIA September 19,1966.

C 1/7 60 mortars hill 22 , 10 <br><br>Transfered to 26th Marines H & S 81 mortars <br>Unit went afloats went 4 or 5 search and destroy operations was A Gunner humped the 81 mortar tube along with all other gear

With the Marine buildup instead of climbing hills and searching into the jungle they should have drawn out the big units into the open and then engaged to destroy larger numbers of the enemy...

Casualties inverted, this stuff is straight fromwiki but confused, ARVN lost 90 kia and 90 odd MIA, marines 45 2/1 and 3/3 about a dozen and 2/7 about 20.
