  I heated spaghetti up in the microwave and of course there were splatters. I immediately got a rag and wiped it. Easiest cleaning ever! I didn’t wait till it was dried on there, just to get a cup of water to heat up and steam it up, just to wait five minutes for it to soften up, for me to wipe it up. Literally took less than a minute. 🙌🏼

  I had a long time friend with a literally never messy home. It’s a matter of what you can tolerate. She couldn’t tolerate anything out of place so she immediately put it away after use. There wasn’t much to put away because she kept her life simple and compartmentalized. It sounds awful but it was very peaceful and functional. I can tolerate lot of mess, I can just tune it out, but tidy makes me happier. Messy is not visually pleasing or functional and it’s embarrassing, so I tidy daily and keep up on the basics. 👍

  I have a relative who has a always-tidy house and she is very anxious of visiting children making a mess, she also has no hobbies in the house and no friends visiting. But a beautifully clean and tidy house, always. <br><br>I think she also has some kind of mild OCD with regards to it as if the house is messy she gets visibly upset and perturbed and has to have some time alone. I don’t think that’s a very healthy state. It’s also her need to control her environment. <br><br>Ideally I think she would like to control the world too and have everything her own way, including people. <br><br>Everything in moderation.

  I have the rule for myself or my household; the home will be clean everyday. Mom is however not required to stay in a cleaning mode. As well as everything in our home having an assigned home. Conversation had when we purchase.
