  I just started a lineman apprenticeship and have been going over a lot of this for underground dips. We only use 1/0 and 750 underground primary. I started watching your videos over a year ago and really kickstarted my journey to becoming an apprentice. Thank you!

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJdOpSFyO58&amp;t=145">2:25</a><br>You are correct!<br>I witnessed it once.<br><br>When I was working as an electrician, I was standing in a ditch while my boss was running the Bobcat to dig a trench. <br><br>During a scoop about 2 feet down, all of a sudden, I felt the ground shake, and it wasn&apos;t from him digging. <br><br>He had gotten into a 7200 volt line that wasn&apos;t buried very deep. <br>When he lifted the bucket up, one of the teeth was a little stub of metal. It literally blew the tooth off of the bucket. <br>We never did find it.

  I&apos;m an industrial electrician, but I have my high voltage cable splicing and termination certification. Love your channel. Keep up the great content!

  Fascinating stuff. Coincidentally just had the guys from Scottish and Southern (SW UK) repairing a fault on the pole that feeds my house! You guys and your international brothers and sisters do a great job, and it&apos;s much appreciated.

  Air is a good isolator, another reason why a lot of lines are on poles.

When Siemens invented coaxial cable for underground power, everybody was afraid. Herr Siemens (I forget which one) rolled out a generator and a length of his new coax. Took an axe, and chopped the cable in half. Live! A fuse blew. The axe had arc damage. He was fine. Because the hot leg was surrounded by the return leg the &quot;explosion&quot; was entirely inside the cable. True, his handy demo generator had less energy than we use to run a small town, and maybe if he had modern power it coulda gone worse. I&apos;m sure the cable-makers, and some backhoe operators, have empirical stories.

  Bob, you have a awesome channel.I worked in power generation for about 2 years coming out of college.This channel is a lot of good information.I always wondered how you guys stay safe and work as hard as you do.You linemen are awesome thank you.

  I was in pain just watching you maneuvering that stuff. I enjoy learning how all of that works. I love crows. They are smart creatures and very entertaining.
