We make Indian often. When they call for Chili Powder its not the seasoning you use for American Chili. Next time, look for Kashmiri Chili powder, then you'll get some heat. Chili powder for Indian food is ground hot chili's. In the US its a seasoning blend.

Some naan bread is excellent with the butter chicken. Also if you want it a little more spicy you can add some cayenne pepper. Not too much though.
