  My great great great uncle Captain Wesley Mellard Co H 13th Mississippi Infantry Barksdales brigade CSA fought at the Peach Orchard near the Trostle Farm July 2 1863 at Gettysburg A sad and a terrible day for both sides Salute to the men of the Blue and Gray who fought so valiantly and died so bravely here over a hundred years ago Thanks for sharing this program it was very interesting

  I was a new second lieutenant when I walked up to the Mississippi monument in 1982. I believe that it was the first time I teared up at the thought of what happened to my fellow Mississippians.
