The First Step to Reverse Fatty Liver.

I had severe NAFLD, I'm Asian, female, 58kg, 5'3" with BMI of 23. Supposed to be in norm - average, not considered fat. But I have high triglycerides (genetic: to avoid starvation) which makes my body a superstorer of sugar into fat in my liver. Within 2 months of a complete stop of all carbs, my fatty liver reversed itself to normal. Gone. As an experiment, I ate back normal and it came back to severe. So guys, it's the food you eat. Since then (3 years now), I am at normal-mild NALFD because I do not want to cut all carbs as I love sourdough breads, noodles, croissants etc but I really watch that I only allow myself that once or twice a week. I also started exercising regularly (this helps a lot), just simple walking after meals goes a long way, or stretching while contracting your muscles to move the glucose out of your bloodstream into your muscles (the more exercise= the more muscles= the more exits your glucose has) and my CGM shows the glucose spike blunting after 10mins and goes all the way straight down. Definitely do not eat carbs with fat (I love bread and butter aww..) but that is the worse thing (also croissant as it's got a lot of butter in the layers) because the fat is high-jacked with the sugar straight into your liver when your insulin is high (google it). All this is how to reduce glucose and fat. But fructose! it's the worse for fatty liver so I don't know why this doctor is promoting eating a lot of fruits. Even with the fiber, esp mangos and other sweet fruits - fructose can only only processed by the liver. So that's the worse type of sugar for your liver. Yes for meals, to blunt your glucose spike, always eat fiber first, then protein, then only your carbs. Most of my meals is just veg+protein, no carbs. I've stopped all the hidden sugars - no more in teas, coffees, etc but I like a bottled ginger beer from time to time which has a lot of sugar. I don't deprive myself but I am aware of what I eat and I do maintain a basic low carb low sugar protocol. I've explored making keto cakes and cookies with egg whites, very little sugar or carb, mostly with almond meal, chocolate protein powder, zucchini, to replace flour. Date sugar is the only thing that diabetic can take so I use that. It's not the same of course, but it calms the itch and from time to time I do eat a really proper lovely cake too! We got to live and be happy too! Why live to a 100 and be miserable getting there? Just find your balance and keep to it.
1. Reduce fruits (esp not first thing in morning after night fast it'll spike your glucose highest)
2. Reduce carbs (try shirataki noodles, kaizen rice, sourdough bread lowest GI)
3. Exercise 3-4x a week (even gentle walking ok, just move)
4. Eat your veggies first, then protein then carb (if you cool your carbs at least 1h in fridge or freezer creating resistant starch then reheat it'll reduce the glucose hit by 15%)
5. Watch to lower not only glucose, but prioritise decreasing glucose+fat combo, and fructose

Sorry this is long but I've done tons of research and just wanted to share. Hope it may help some people. Cheers! 🌿💕🌸

I turned 62 yesterday. All my life, I’ve been obese, even as a child. I have gone through every single diet you can think of, low-fat, no fat, Atkins, Dash, high fiber, SAD, vegan, vegetarian, Mediterranean, every single thing you can think of, and on top of that, even taken prescription drugs to suppress the appetite. All that got me was typed two diabetes, fatter than ever, and the final piece of resistance, a stroke and total blindness. On February 18, the start of lent I went full and strict carnivore. No wheat, no grains, no starches, no fruits and no vegetables and no sugar. Within six days I lost 9 pounds, by the end of 25 days I had lost a total of 22 pounds. At the end of 60 days I was down a total of 33 pounds. My A1c went from 13 down to 6.4. I can walk further and breathe without feeling like I’m going to suffocate and die. I still have a long way to go, but if I went back to eating the way that you describe, I would automatically put on all the weight I lost and go back to an A1c of 13 and probably have a heart attack. Those diets just did not work for me. I am the only one in the family that has diabetes and I am the only one now currently losing weight. Everyone else is obese and eats the SAD diet. I’m terrified of going back to the SAD diet. I want to continue to improve my health. I will never get my site back, but if I can avoid having another stroke or a heart attack and not ending up in a wheelchair because of the obesity, then becoming a carnivore will have been a godsend. Everyone’s journey is different and not everybody’s body responds to the SAD diet. Eating whole grains, lentils, beans, and broccoli made my ulcerative colitis worse. Since starting carnivore, there is no sign of the ulcerative colitis. It’s hard, especially since I am Hispanic and am used to eating food with a lot of flavor and variety. But, I don’t have a choice. Well, I do, but only if I want to get sick again and die sooner than expected.

Use Vinegar: Consume two teaspoons of vinegar (preferably balsamic, for its anthocyanins) with meals to improve insulin resistance, curb appetite, and reduce liver fat. Incorporate Superfoods: Eat foods rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients to protect the liver from fat accumulation. Eat "1" Raw unsalted Brazil nut a week. Exercise and Weight Management: The primary goal is achieving a modest weight loss of (5%) to (10%) of your total body weight. Regular, daily physical activity is emphasized to boost metabolism and burn existing liver fat stores.

Thank you so much for all this excellent information. My primary Dr told me I have fatty liver and nothing else. I had no clue what that is, good or bad. She didn't suggest anything. So glad I found you. I subscribed ❤

This hit close bc i ignored feeling sluggish for soo long 😅 always blamed stress or getting older, but i knew somthing was off. Tried detox drinks and random diets… nothing lasted. Then someone in a healing fb group mentioned Eat.Like.a.Woman.Protocol by -L. Green. Ended up losing 28 lbs, belly less puffy and just felt lighter overall. Crazy ppl dont mention this more.
