  Retired teacher here.You can't judge the education system by a 10 minute video when you don't know the school, the city, the Date or even the class. Many schools have a 10 min class just for attendance where short videos may be shown and video classes were very common during the pandemic.

It used to not happen at all but with school shootings and other issues, they&apos;re starting to take it seriously. Some schools in particularly bad neighborhoods have armed security guards or even police. &nbsp;But again, it&apos;s going to vary wildly based on location.<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDALPopDIo0&amp;t=330">5:30</a> no, in my experience that is a very very big gymnasium, not typical.<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDALPopDIo0&amp;t=510">8:30</a> that will depend on the state. My state, California, has 100% free lunch for everyone but I think most states still do what we used to do, which was three levels. If your family was below the poverty level, you have free lunch. If you&apos;re above the poverty line but still not making a lot you get a reduced lunch (you pay 50% of the regular price) and if you&apos;re family makes decent money you pay full price, which is still pretty cheap, about $3.

  I am 81y/o and my HS was very much like this. Someone said it was an &quot;affluent&quot; area which i disagree with. It is an average middle class school. Poor areas may be different but this is average American.

  They were actually using the videos as study. One was evaluating how marketable a TV commercial was. I can&apos;t remember the other one. I think they were watching CNN for current events. They watch and then comment/discuss it. I&apos;m really enjoying your content. Keep it up!

  This was a &nbsp;few years ago but today they make the studends silence their phones and put them in a clear box on the teacher&apos;s desk

  We have surprise snow storms where school is canceled BUT its an &quot;E-learning&quot; day. The students are expected to log into class on a zoom type app from their home. Every student is issued some type of Chromebook instead of physical books📚 Personal phones and computers are for play - but school media boards and computers are strictly for learning. We learn to keep a wall between them. I suspect walking around filming a vlog wouldn&apos;t be allowed today

  I laugh that you think they just watch you tube videos and teacher does nothing. They will watch maybe a minute to 5 minutes to learn something and talk about and the lessons are clearly done by the teachers. All the schools in my area give each student a laptop for the school year.

  Oak park is a close suburb to Chicago. You could see the skyscrapers ten miles away in downtown Chicago on the horizon. Space is tight so it&apos;s strange that you think it&apos;s spacious. Oak Park is home to some famous people including Ernest Hemingway. &nbsp;It&apos;s an upper middle class town - a very nice town ❤

  As you can see the video was taken on a friday most teachers don&apos;t feel like teaching on Fridays so usually it&apos;s always like a video related to their class that they put on or a movie because it&apos;s friday and they&apos;re just so done with the week

  A Freshman is the 9th grade (first year) and a Junior is the 11th grade (third year). Then you have Sophomore or 10th grade and Senior which is the last year of high school or 12th grade.
