Claiming divine visions from Archangel Michael, Saint Catherine, and Saint Margaret, she believed she was called to lead France to victory. Known as “La Pucelle” (The Maiden), Jeanne inspired both commoners and nobles, playing a crucial role in the lifting of the siege of Orléans and the campaign toward Reims and Paris. Captured by the Burgundians, she was handed over to the English, tried for heresy, and executed in 1431.
