  When Khalid-Ibn Al Waleed was taking his last breaths, he was sad that he was dying on bed, he had wished for Martyrdom in a battle. When he told it to one of his friends who was there the friend replied. "God forbids his sword to be broken in a battle". This drived his sadness away and he died peacefully.

  One amazing thing about Alvin C York was he was a member of a pacifist church in Tennessee before the war who at one time applied for conscientious objector status but when he had to he dedicated himself fully and attacked the German position as he said &quot;to save lives&quot;.<br><br>He is memorialized all over Tennessee and has a VA named for him in Murfreesboro and was the subject of a movie.
