  I had plans to run a green dragon who ran a criminal syndicate in disguise as a wood elf. If the party ever got close to beating her or her guild she would turn invisible before transforming and all the players would hear and feel is the flap of wings as <b>something</b> flew away from the false HQ they fought her at. Then they&apos;d have to find the true lair and have a whole other boss fight there as well. Sadly that campaign fell apart before we arrived at that subplot. But im keeping her in my back pocket for the future.

  Not to forget, that everything points towards Green Dragons breath weapon being chlorine gas.<br>That is, by the way, one of ways you can figure out that you&apos;re in a Green Dragons territory: it smells faintly like a swimming pool.<br>But back to the breath weapon: you likely have <i><b>NO</b></i><b></b> idea how nasty it is!<br>1) It&apos;s a yellowish green gas, that&apos;s, to my memory, heavier than air.<br>2) It kills everything, and I mean <i>everything!</i> After an area gets hit by a Greens breath weapon, the trees will shed their leaves, every creature lies dead on the ground, and the grass turns black!<br>3) Holding your breath does absolutely nothing!!!<br>4) And I just realized this myself: <i><b>Forget! Your! Potions!!!</b></i><b></b> You can only rely on spells for healing and buffs after you got hit by a Greens poison breath, potions will only make things worse, and going back to 3) and why holding your breath does nothing, because <br>5) the chlorine gas of its breath weapon reacts with moisture to form hydrochloric acid! And guess whose body contains large amounts of water! That&apos;s right, you! And most other living organisms for that matter. And where do Green Dragons prefer to lair again? Oh, right, in damp places, forests, swamps, the lair itself underground, the entrance preferably behind a waterfall, and the lands around the lair perpetually covered in fog... meaning, when you fight it in its lair, there&apos;s almost no chance you are even remotely dry.<br>Not that that matters, of course. The normal moisture of your body should already be enough for the gas to react, causing chemical burns and you&apos;ll start to go blind, while coughing up blood and pieces of your liquifying lungs.<br><br>The longer you fight this walking, talking, breathing, flying war crime, the worse you get.<br>That is, what you&apos;d experience when you fight a Green Dragon.

  I have an Ancient Green Dragon who does have some of his children working for him that are older than wyrmling. He has at least one Adult daughter working for him, and they both know it&apos;s a temporary alliance of convenience. It&apos;s very much like the Sith in Star Wars: she learns from her father&apos;s vast wisdom while also scheming to overthrow him, which of course he is aware of and allows to an extent because it both keeps her sharp and it amuses him.

  A green dragon threatening a player character’s family with geas is terrifying as as a back story. Made to do life threatening adventures to pay back their parent’s debt from a modify memory spell that fabricated his whole family that is already dead or still enslaved.

  A ran a young green dragon with a party of 4 at lvl 5 recently. It was serving an older (red) dragon in searching for mercenaries that could fit in tight spaces. So the green dragon demolished a small town and waited for retributive action. When my party showed up, it battled them, strafing the streets with its breath attack, and keeping out of range most of the time. When it got low on health, it flew very high above, and taunted them all. It called for a rematch and told them where they could find him. <br> &nbsp; When the party showed up for the rematch, they got ambushed by gnolls and Minotaurs at the mouth of a ravine absolutely infested with kobolds. Once they hacked their way through all that and burned most of their spell slots, the dragon showed up to challenge them in a ravine. Here, the party had no place to hide to avoid breath weapon attacks and they were automatically clustered together. The dragon stayed airborne as much as possible again. &nbsp;Every single PC was making death saves at one point or another during this fight. Once the dragon was low on health again, the red dragon showed up. The young green dragon said he found warriors, but that they were too weak (padding his own pride). The red dragon, seeing how badly beat up the green dragon was, tore his head off and hired the party.

  Three words: Ignite breath weapon. I&apos;ve homebrewed the breath weapon of green dragons to be ignitable and explosive - and trust me it adds a layer of terror and awe I didn&apos;t think were possible.

  I had a green dragon who acted like the guardian of a whole string of villages around their territory, but in payment demanded children, who the locals would see occasionally, trained as defending warriors... Or rather, each village would see their own as defenders, while the brainwashed youths of other communities played the role of bandits, thus growing their army while playing both protector and assailant. The villages hiding the dragon&apos;s existance, fearing without its might, they would be destroyed, believing its pact benefitted them, and that ignorant outsiders might attack the dragon, their sheltering wing...

  The first time I read about green dragons&apos; personality, I thought two things: 1. That&apos;s really cool, and 2. I don&apos;t know if I&apos;m cunning enough to run it.

  The &apos;social&apos; structure is what caught my attention, all those decades ago. <br><br>&quot;When dealing with most other creatures, green dragons <br>are honey-tongued, smooth, and sophisticated. Among their <br>own kind, they are loud, crass, and generally rude, especially <br>when dealing with dragons of the same age and status. <br>Younger dragons are forced to use some restraint when <br>interacting with their elders, but the veneer of civility they <br>adopt is paper-thin, and the dragons know it. A clear peck- <br>ing order, based on age and status but with no formal hier- <br>archy, develops among green dragons within a given area. <br>Green dragons know each other too well to depend on any <br>formal social structure.&quot;<br><br>Status requires colleagues to respect and envy it. &nbsp;<br>That alone makes them a dragon that can form &quot;colonies.&quot;<br>All trying to undermine each other, for the status alone.
