  i literally JUST resigned from a small business today. i&apos;m so excited for my last shift to be over and done with. working there has been an absolute nightmare. no breaks, solo shifts, things frequently breaking, not getting public holiday pay, terrible management... yeah i quit after less than 3 months.

  We had a shoe store in our town next to Colorado college, that sold wonderful good leather shoe brands that were the classic and latest styles. &nbsp;Yes they were a little bit more expensive than online but the owner was a shoe cobbler and he would re soul your favorite broken in shoes for a very small price and make your comfy old shoes like new for a small cost. He made belts for special fit and style, purses to match your shoes and that business was the best in town until he died of old age and his business sadly died with him. &nbsp;Mr. Patinga. &nbsp;He was a sweet heart!

  Closed on weekends + evenings, when people are off work to shop and then they wonder why no one shops there. Try being open when needed, not when you feel like being open.

  It&apos;s the entitlement for me. I didn&apos;t ask you to start a small business. I&apos;m not obligated to support you. I am willing to spend more money for personalization and higher quality, but I&apos;m not spending my hard-earned money on Temu bullshit and piss poor customer service.

  Needed a dog bed for a large dog. Went to my small local pet shop. The bed was around $75 not including sales tax. I left the store and immediately went to Walmart- got relatively the same exact bed for about $25 (including sales tax). I don&apos;t wanna hear that we&apos;re &quot;ruining people&apos;s livelihoods&quot; and &quot;killing people&apos;s dreams&quot; anymore when they&apos;re charging prices the average person just isn&apos;t willing to even consider.

  Didn&apos;t they spend literal decades telling us poor folk that if we stopped spending our money on crap like this, we&apos;d all be able to afford houses and bills and stuff? Why are they mad at us for actually taking that advice? One minute, it&apos;s like &quot;you don&apos;t NEED a fancy cup of coffee every day&quot; now it&apos;s &quot;young consumers are killing small businesses by not buying a fancy cup of coffee every day.&quot; WE CAN&apos;T WIN

  I wanted to buy a backpack at a midwestern small town “ boutique” once. The cashier was talking with her friend for like 5 minutes ignoring me, but I was waiting, I wasn’t in a big hurry, and didn’t want to be mean. When I was about to go away she asked if I wanted something, I showed the backpack and asked to pay with cash. She immediately said that they don’t accept cash but I can pay using Venmo or cash app. I was so pissed by then I just said “oh well then I’ll put it back, have a nice day “and went away. When I got home I found and ordered the same backpack from the official brand website and it was twice cheaper, shipping included. Good luck with that boutique business lol
