When the Eagles first released this song, it wasn't doing much on the charts. Linda, being a friend of the band, decided to record it, to popularise the song. The plan obviously worked.

I’m 76. Ronstadt was seemingly always there. From the Stone Poneys in the Summer of Peace and Love onward, she was there. Thanks for bringing her back.

Linda & I are almost exactly the same age. She has been a huge part of the background of my life. <br>Glen Frey said Desperado wasn't a hit until Linda sang it.

Linda was only about 30 at the time of this concert and about 8 years into her solo career. we got her gorgeous vocals for another 25 years or so before she was cruelly robbed of the ability to sing. but thats 30 years of the absolutely best voice you will ever hear, all recorded for posterity. I so miss the 70's and early 80s, music was so real then
