  Thank you for your service. I knew it was easier to become a pastor over a priest, but I didn&apos;t realize that it could be that much easier for some. Makes me want thank my priest for their service as well. I&apos;m going to try it out tomorrow morning. I started going to church again a couple months ago and its been good for my family and I. Got my Rosery recently and been getting into the rhythm with it. God bless.

  My non-denom mother in law told my Catholic husband and I that she became an ordained minister/Chaplain with an internet course. We told her she was taken advantage of and we honestly didn’t handle it well. Pray that we become more charitable with our family. But it’s hard when she says things like “Buddhists worship the same God as us” (there is NO GOD in Buddhism, mom!)

  Point of clarification. The Catholic church does have pastors. A pastor is the head of a parish. Other priests at the parish are associate pastors, although they used to be called vicors which is basically the same thing. Ahead of a church that is not a parish like an oratory, or a cathedral, which is technically the parish of the bishop, but the day-to-day workings of the cathedral parish are entrusted to another priest, is called a rector. There&apos;s also an administrator which is a newer title which is basically a priest who&apos;s doing the job of the pastor but doesn&apos;t have the jurorical authority of a pastor, usually because it&apos;s his first assignment and they&apos;re testing him out as a pastor or because there&apos;s a situation where the pastor is on leave or something.
