  Right on!! I always thought that the biggest weakness in Gavin's scholarly work is his commitment to view things from a protestant perspective rather than letting the evidence lead him towards the truth.

  If I had one admonition for Protestant/Evangelicals: stop using a variant of “nothing in scripture looks exactly like modern church practice X” because it will always apply to you as well. <br><br>That is different than “practice X is contrary to scriptural precept Y” those are good arguments in form if not substance.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcCZnnBoOnw&amp;t=2425">40:25</a> &nbsp;I should not have been sipping on my coffee when Jimmy started this section 😅<br><br>When my dad died, my family and I were by his hospital bed so I saw and felt his body give out. I could barely look at him, though I was relieved that his expression was a lot more peaceful than it had been. I can’t imagine going through the whole process of getting him ready for burial, nor does the idea of picking at his bones stir much past slight queasiness. <br><br>It’s easy for me to process and handle other people’s bodies and their parts. Partially because of the Catholic faith being pretty open about showing first class relics and death in general. But it definitely takes some fortitude to handle a loved one’s remains without immediately breaking down.
