Great reaction!

Matt Damon came up with the idea for “Good Will Hunting” while he was a student at Harvard University. He and his childhood friend Ben Affleck were in their early 20s when they wrote the script together and they both won Academy Awards (U.S equivalent of the BAFTAs) for Best Original Screenplay. Robin Williams won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. British actress Minnie Driver, who played Skylar, was nominated for an Academy Award.

Minnie Driver and Matt Damon were in a relationship during filming, so the chemistry between the two of them was real. They broke up shortly before the film was released. Ben Affleck’s brother Casey Affleck played the role of Morgan, Will’s friend with the dark curly hair. In 2016 Casey won an Academy Award for Best Actor for the film “Manchester by the Sea.”

Robin Williams improvised the story about his wife farting in bed, so Matt Damon’s laugh in reaction to it was genuine. Williams also ad-libbed the last line of the film, "Son of a bitch, stole my line."

Robin Williams also gave outstanding dramatic performances in "Dead Poets Society" (1989) and “Awakenings” (1990).

I’m from Boston. South Boston (Southie) at this time and historically was a tough area. Mainly Irish-American, blue-collar, working class. Crime boss Whitey Bulger was from Southie.

The scene where you asked is this really Boston was filmed in Harvard Square in Cambridge. Most of the neighborhood scenes are South Boston though.

10:50: Just so you know, "How do you like them apples" is an old-fashioned expression. But it probably deserves a comeback.

Yees, that’s Boston. Everything is quite Boston. The banter and smart ass attitude is quite Boston as well

51:28 It must have been more than just an "I love you too," because the movie actually ended with the Starland Vocal Band...
