  Maybe the title should be &quot;Cavill as Geralt fan&quot; but that would be to long LMAO. The main cast (Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri) imo might be the Netflix fumble of doom<br><br>Edit: Since a lot of new people are still finding this video, I appreciate y&apos;all! Just keep in mind, The Netflix show is not all objectively bad to someone who DOES NOT KNOW THE ORIGINAL ART LMAO. For example, I&apos;m a massive Narnia fan who read all the books, and was hella disappointed with the Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie, but it would make no sense for me to question the intelligence of someone who enjoyed it as a regular fantasy movie just because they weren&apos;t part of my proud fandom. Keep telling me why y&apos;all hate it, I actually like learning about that stuff! That&apos;s why I started checking it out. But if you&apos;re commenting just to feel better than someone, congrats I guess ? Here&apos;s a cookie 🍪

  It&apos;s genuinely stupid. They had EVERYTHING they needed to make The Witcher(Netflix) good.<br><br>- 4 games as visual guide/reference.<br>- a culture built around the IP(for fanservice and such).<br>- Books for in-depth info and lore.<br>- a very SOLID fanbase to lean up on for success.<br>- Absurd amount of budget.<br><br>Yet, they decided they &quot;knew&quot; better, and changed the very thing that people loved The Witcher for.

  The show is only very loosely based on the books. It changed a LOT of things to make it more fit for the &quot;modern audience&quot;. This why people who know the source don&apos;t like it and why Cavill left the show. I recommend you to read the books or listen to the audio books.

  It’s worth noting that the striga fight cinematic is basically a shot for shot recreation. And while the cinematic shows geralt being incredibly competent the book puts a lot of emphasis on him being very careful throughout the fight and knowing the risk of his actions and then forgetting that carefulness right at the end when he gets slashed and he nearly gets his jugular ripped out and he has to recover for weeks while being scolded by mother neneke for being stupid.

  If you&apos;re curious about the Books vs The Show, vs The Games it basically goes like this. &nbsp;<br> &nbsp;<br>Books: &nbsp;They&apos;re the original. &nbsp;They focus on Geralt at the start then shift to 50/50 between Geralt and Ciri in later editions. &nbsp;<br><br>Show: &nbsp;Think of it as an alternate Universe as the show changed so much that it basically is an entirely different property. &nbsp;Show Universe changes the background lore, key events, and characters. &nbsp;None of the main characters act like their book equivalents or look how they&apos;re described in the books outside of Geralt (this is likely because Henry Cavill was a huge Witcher fan before being cast as Geralt in the show so he knows how Geralt is supposed to be). &nbsp;Basically, when they say they were following the books, they lied. &nbsp;They&apos;re nothing like the books.<br> &nbsp;<br>Games: &nbsp;These are faithful continuations of the books. &nbsp;The characters look and act like they do in the books. &nbsp;The games occur after the books end as a continuation of the books so all the lore, events, and characters are extremely accurate. &nbsp;However, as it was not Sapkowski&apos;s writing these would be considered as faithful fan continuations.<br> &nbsp;<br>In general, Witcher fans are fans of the books and the games but not the show. &nbsp;The low quality of writing and the massive number of changes make it feel like a generic fantasy world that Geralt got dropped into. &nbsp;<br><br>In summary. &nbsp;<br>Book: &nbsp;Universe 1, early period, good<br>Games: Universe 1, late period, good<br>Show: &nbsp;Universe 2, early period, bad.

  Geralt drank the Black Blood potion before going into the barn. &nbsp;It makes his blood poisonous to vampires. &nbsp;Then he threw a Moon Dust bomb to reveal the vampire who was using it&apos;s innate invisibility. &nbsp;The shiny yellow magic was Geralt using Quen to protect himself when the vampire threw a whole damn carriage at him. &nbsp;Amazing stuff.

  Honestly everything from Netflix series other than Season 1 is absolute trash lore-wise. They completely disregarded both books and games and created their own fanfic
