  A number of years ago I attended a funeral for a woman who served in the church for years. The eulogy and tributes were just about how she served everyone and nothing about who she was - what made her laugh, what she did outside of church, her favorite color, whatever...And it freaked me out. It made me realise how I wanted to be a whole person - that is okay to be and not just to do all the time.

  Lord, I relate to this so much. &nbsp;I used to have nightmares about going to hell for telling my parents a little white lie.<br>Christianity does not teach you this. Horrible pastors ,teachers, parents do this.<br>People pleasing <br>Anxiety <br>Male centering <br>Lack of boundaries <br>Subservients ( allowing people to walk all over you)<br>Guilt / Shame <br>They do not teach children how to manage these things and some of us can’t really process it due to a lack of maturity. <br>It is very negligent actually.

  I never understood the purity ring thing because childhood is still childhood. Why do rituals of marriage with children ?

  I&apos;m still a believer but, I have changed my mind on tithing, forcing myself to serve as a single woman, and forcing myself to go to church instead of having two days of rest (Sat&amp; Sun). I let my light shine by actively helping the poor, the widows, and the prostitutes.❤

  I&apos;ve deconstructed and been on my journey for a few yrs. After waking up consciously and being so aware of patriarchy &amp; systems &nbsp;I feel sadden that I brought a child into this world. I have to ground my self daily bc once you deconstruct you learn that patriarchy is rooted in everything

  I used to have dreams of white Jesus. &nbsp;I would wake up to silence, thinking of being left behind as a child. &nbsp; I&apos;m a gen x. &nbsp;I started noticing thing were not right 7/8 years ago. &nbsp;I started deconstructing, and it&apos;s been hard but FREEING. ❤❤. Men are taught way differently and are so sinful while the women are the ones being holy. &nbsp;I now have my morals in order. &nbsp;It&apos;s freeing to understand who I am outside of religion. &nbsp; I love righteousness. &nbsp;I love boundaries and having a moral compass outside of religion.

  Oh my God, I used to pray every night that I wouldn’t die in my sleep and go to hell that is so sad that an eight-year-old cried herself to sleep out of fear of going to hell, and you’re right with zero medical conditions.
