omg i love conversations with God it just makes the most sense to ME. I grew up with religious trauma so i never was really introduced to the traditional christian god in a good light. it takes strength to critically think and deconstruct what you were conditioned into at birth thank you for this video ❤❤❤

I’m only 8 minutes in and this sounds a lot like the ICC (International Christian Church) or international Churches Of Christ (ICOC). I’m a devout Christian but was recruited by the ICC cult my sophomore year of college. Luckily I immediately picked up on some red flags and stopped attending. Based on previous experience, The ICC definitely promoted group think as opposed to critical thinking. I haven’t watched the full video yet but I can definitely say for certain that there are a lot of things the Christian church can work on and I have definitely had to deconstruct some of my beliefs but still have maintained my faith in Jesus. I hope despite these negative experiences you’re still able to maintain a relationship with Jesus because that’s what Christianity is truly about. Wishing you the best of luck 💕

Congratulations to you for finding your way out of Christianity. I like seeing people get released from its grip. Particularly, I like to see it when Black people find their way out, because I think in a lot of ways, it is exceptionally damaging to the black community.

I was never a believer, even though I grew up around it. I wanted to believe because clearly, everyone else was. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong.

But it never ever made an ounce of sense to me. And the more I learned the less it made sense.

Ironically, however, Santa Claus did make sense. Because at least with him, I could see a pattern every year. Something actually happened.

But once I discovered by accident that Santa wasn’t real, then the whole goddamn thing completely fell apart. At that point, I realized that everyone had been lying to me all this time.

I’m glad that I did not grow up Christian. I’ve been a free thinker my entire life and that has done very well for me.

I enjoyed your video very much. You have a new subscriber.

Best of luck with your new life.

I'm usually not one to watch videos like these but I am in a way thankful to have watched this. Even though I very much am a Christian and have no plan on leaving, I do appreciate that you have called out very REAL problems with inside of the church that whether your a Christian or not are leading people away from the true intention of what the Bible is tying get across. I think many things that went on with your church would have had Paul writing a letter to them calling them out as (whether through intention or ignorance) many of their, "codes of conduct" shall I say, weren't really all that rooted in scripture, even though it had some ASPECTS of what was found in scripture. I'm not here to pick things apart as this is a video of you sharing your story, but I did want to comment on the sin question of yours just incase you were wondering about it or anyone else was as it is a tricker answer to find as some church people (not everyone though) start stressing over any question against what they believe, like yo chill the truth remains true even if you question it😭

Sin is not as much as an object created as it is more so a choice to be made/state of being, it's a place to go to or somewhere to turn away from that manifests itself within actions. Sin is apart of free will, and so the question can almost be re-formed from "why did He create sin?" to "why did He allow free will?". And the reason we were as humans given free will is actually quite a simple one. If one person was forced to marry another, do they truly love each other? If one is forced and has no choice to do otherwise to do the right thing, can they truly say they WANT to do what is right? I would say no because a desire can only ever be your own, I can only ever love someone I personally choose, and kindness becomes true when I choose to care for someone. So God gave freewill as a human right when we were created, and because of that the byproduct of sin also became available, because if God forced us to love him and do good things, do we truly want to do that?

So I wouldn't say that sin is created like an object is, but more so apart of the bigger package which is free will. I will say though, I'm only 17 and not by ANY means a theologian and don't claim to know all there is about God or even the Bible, but I appreciate the questions and ways this video challenges us to think so I wanted to add what I knew in as well!

I am so glad to hear more stories about deconstruction. I made my first video yesterday. Hopefully I can get my word out and help more people in the process. My video wasn't as short as yours, but still got my points across.

Hey Kelsie (Hope I spelled your name correctly if not, I sincerely apologize) 😅
Thanks for sharing your story. I am a Christian but I really enjoyed hearing your experiences and the internal wrestling you went through. Our stories are somewhat similar; I too was raised in a Christian home (I’m originally from Nigeria but have lived in the U.S since I was 19). College was where I had my own internal struggle with the Christian faith I was raised in because for the first time in my life, I was living on my own and I could live life on my own terms without parental control. My sophomore year was when atheism began to look attractive to me because I had sooo many questions about the Bible that I just didn’t have answers too. What saved me was finding Christian apologists and apologetic resources and like minded believers (and even non-believers) who helped me look at faith and God from a more critical and deeper perspective. I looked at other religions like Islam, Mormonism etc. (I also had friends for the first time who were of other faiths so it made me hear different worldviews). Anyway, my goal sharing this is not to convince you to return back to Christianity (although that would be awesome 😃) it’s more so to say it’s ok to question the beliefs you grew up with because a faulty foundation never lasts long. I do genuinely think that Jesus Christ holds the answer to the deepest needs of the human soul and that the Bible holds God’s truth. Anyway, imma stop talking too much and hope this encourages and helps someone ❤️✌🏾

Thank you for sharing your story! I’m an avid traveler and I’ve meant some of the most amazing souls in places like India, Bali, Dubai, etc. I often find myself questioning if my religion is right does that mean every other religion is not?

Also with the rise of Christian Nationalism being synonymous with basically white supremacy it seems Christianity has become perverted to push other agendas.
