I'm amazed that a senior person would have a mother that had a freezer in the late '40s. My mum didn't have a fridge until 1959 and we were by no means hard up. We lived in our own detached 4 bedroom house and my father was a chemist.<br>Please don't exaggerate your stories this much.

Hi, I do talks on the history of intensive farming. When you are displaying the images, please don't show those happy hens amidst the grass and sunlight. as this is a misrepresentation of where today's hens come from. Please show the deep litter barns and the chickens dragging along by their wings because they can't walk to the feeders or drink water because of their excessive weight. The chickens you talk of are Franken chickens. They are fed hormones to accelerate growth and become ready for slaughter at 6 weeks. In your man's day's a chicken that weighed 3 1bs today will be double that. To your description 'cheap' add cruel and callous too, so people know just what they are getting. If you get a power outage not that cheap. Try plant proteins for sustainability and longevity and quality and compassion!
