Good video. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m a 73 year old Brit. My daughter is a food nut and we have all of these items in our kitchen, along with every spice known to man and some I can’t even pronounce. ☺️ She was a vegetarian, but found she was gluten and lactose intolerant, so decided it was easier just to go vegan. Since then she has discovered every trick in the book for making tasty meals using stuff I’d never even heard of! Her no egg cakes are amazing, lemon drizzle, chocolate, crumbles, no dairy at all. I’m not a vegan btw, I eat meat and fish, but most of her grub is really tasty. 😊

RE: No 41- dried beans
When we buy beans in Serbia, they are dry , usually up to one year old.We can cook them with or without soaking; we do not need to throw away the water in which they were first boiled...our sorts of beans do not contain any toxin. However, some throw the first water in which they had been cooked until boliling because of the stomach problems beans cause for them (such as gas and bloating).
I have been preparing them all my life in the water that they have been soaked (usually overnight) and have learned that the water contains much more minerals and useful microelelements that would have been wasted otherwise.
(just a remark from Serbia, ex- Yugoslavia in Europe!)

The Brits know how to put together good informative "how ro videos." After having watched at leas 30 U.S. produced videos on Pantry building, this video is by far THE BEST! Thank for making it!

The convenience food era has lead to us forgetting all the tricks our grandparents used to get through food rationing and there plates were likley healthier despite the limited ingredients. With the rising cost of food, conflicts and climate change affecting global distribution this information seems much more usefull for everyone, not just survival prepers. Knowing how to make nutritious meals with basic ingredients and how to store foods to last longer feels like essential information.

Not just when needed, but great when money is tight at the end of the month to stretch what you have.

Not only it gives you info on bad foods but also gives you ideas , really love your videos and at times been binge watching them (instead of Netflix) keep up the good work!

I'm just looking at the stuff in my pantry with a smile, as I have many of these foods there, including cornmeal, condensed milk, and corned beef.

2 or 3 handfuls of pearl barley in a pot of liquid, water plus stock cubes will turn bits and pieces of meat and veg into a meal

Tea... I am keeping instant coffee and normal black tea. Besides that I am gathering, drying, and storing the following items beside the tea.: Leaves from strawberry, blackcurrant, and other berry bushes that have aromatic leaves once they have been dried. Dried peels from ecologic oranges, lime, apples... Once you have straight black and green tea, you might be surprised at how many flavors you can find in your environment.

Also handy is a basic knowledge of all the plants that contain lots of vital vitamins and minerals. A lot of "weeds" we overlook contain vit C in the leaves.
