Headset routed cables are the work of the devil. I've had one for 3 years on an Orbea and it was a cause for water ingress into the battery. Any time i wanted to work on the bike it was a huge Faf. I cannot tell you how happy i will be when they consign this abomination to the bin!!... Phew that feels better!!

I’m 55 years old and just got into the MTB hobby last Summer. My wife joined in with a Liv hardtail. Since then, I’ve installed a few dropper posts with minimal issues, and modified our bikes with carbon bars, colorful stems, etc etc. We recently bought an Orbea Urrun for my wife. Expensive E-hardtail, in my opinion, and unfortunately the stock dropper was too tall for her short legs. The headset routed cables and wire routing have forced me to take it to the shop for the dropper install, and I won’t be trying to swap her bar for carbon either. Also, the headset routed dropper cable binds making it harder to actuate than any of our other 4 dropper equipped bikes. Needless to say… we’re not that thrilled with the Orbea.

Was drawn towards a Cube, minute I noticed headset cable routing, I about turned and looked at other bikes.

Headset routing solved a problem nobody had and created shedloads of as you said faf. The issues it brings far outweigh the perception of looks and tidyness. On bike purchases, let alone maintenance, it's a dealbreaker for me.

Haven’t watched the video yet but kashima coated rotor in the notification really caught my attention since the coating is ment to reduce friction😅
