People are confusing sympathy with empathy, and blaming empathy. IMO

Ra’s al Ghul is an Arabic name that literally means “Head of the Demon,” so it’s funny to me when people just call him “Ra’s,” because they’re basically just calling him “Head.”

As far as philosophy goes, the polarization between making choices out of love or fear is ultimately taoism. It is about the 'why.'

one of the best analyses of the polarization between bad judging [ moralism, retributivism] and good judging [restorative justice with compassion, meliorism] and at the end, of the need to go beyond and above from 'only the personal things matter mindset' that is bound to lead us towards the war against each other.... keep up the good work

Nolan: I’ll show Bruce’s ancestors as people who helped free slaves.
Snyder: Bruce’s ancestors were merciless hunters, grr.

There’s so much more thought out into this iteration of the characters.

Part of the philosophy, we can see through the relationship between Ra’s al Ghul and Batman. Ra’s al Ghul, literally “Head of the Demon,” connects to the demon as a shape-shifter. In the beginning, he uses a drug to induce Batman’s hallucinations, forcing him to manifest his emotions. The idea is that our inner feelings (our hallucinations—morality) must be externalized, even if into something foreign to reality. This changes their impact. In a way, Batman himself is a manifestation of those hallucinations—morals. The ice training scene shows that even the reality we see is another hallucination. If we stand on it as we are, believing it’s stable, we’ll fall through the ice. We need something bigger than reality to rise above it.

Just started but I can't wait for the segment on
     "Why do we fall, Bruce?"
"So we can learn to pick ourselves back up"

Saw this movie real young. I've been through an incredible amount of bs just repeating that and a few other phrases I've picked up over the years.

Been told it sounds ridiculous but it genuinely feels like it steels me for whatever I'm going through. Doesn't make it suck any less, feels like just thinking it though awakens a dormant toughness I don't oft have reason to utilize. But those words thought with conviction, a trust in their meaning. Just puts the armor on me.

Gotham is South Africa 🇿🇦 right now. As a citizen I can tell you that fear is holding us back.

Fear has built a society for corruption to thrive. Politicians, Gorvenment and the Justice system are all captured.

Poverty, capitalism, more people losing jobs, more crime and life is more difficult than ever.
