Producers told The Beatles there was no way a seven minute song would get on the air and John Lennon replied “they will if it’s us.” Correct!

Dock Of The Bay was the song Otis was working on when he was killed in the plane crash. So it was unfinished; and as he was working on it with Steve Cropper, after he was killed Cropper went back into the studio and finished it with the whistling

The whistle in 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay' happened because Otis was not finished recording the tune before he died so while he recorded the take he whistled the part he still needed to write lyrics for.

The Bee Gees wrote To Love Somebody for Otis Redding, but he died so they recorded it. You should do a deep dive into the Bee Gees 5-decade catalog, blue-eyed soul!! Worth every minute!! ❤❤❤

The best thing about music from the 60's and 70's was the variety. Instrumentals, stories, fun, sad, fast, slow, all sounding so different. Something for everyone.
