To anyone who wants to move away from letting algorithms serve them everything, here's a super easy first step: bookmark your YouTube subscriptions page instead of the YouTube front page.

I feel like we should call it the "Alive Internet Movement", to underline that it isn't a provable/disprovable theory, but a real effort by real people. The internet may die, but we can live.

A lot of what we need is proof that art CANNOT die.

I get the feeling that persistent optimism and hope could lead to accumulative positive effects. In other words the indomitable human spirit must return

I LOVE THIS. The internet of the 2010s gave me so much community, inspiration, creativity. I love the idea of purposefully bringing that energy back.

This video is helping to encourage me to stop existing as a ghost online and start responding, engaging, interacting (not even for the algorithm, just for the creator) especially when a video like this one reminds me that I am a human and not just a consumer so I’ve gotta act like one!

“I want you to feel so good here that you want to get out of here!” What an inspiring prompt to start sharing beautiful things online!

10:49 damn, the idea of talking to 100 people is intimidating as heck, so 100 views is actually pretty wild when you frame it that way

I'm afraid I never got to the end of this video. After 3 minutes, you made me realise that I was completely caught up in the youtube trap again. I closed the video, and immediately realised that I could hear the sound of birds outside my window. Thank you.

Shooting this with a 20 year-old camera makes nostalgia hit hard...back when Youtube had just started, and the first video got uploaded then
