As far as Quagmire and diseases go, the guys tried giving him one as a prank by sticking a needle in him. Quagmire ends up looking like a pin cushion he has so many needles. Peter goes to Africa and catches a mosquito that carries a disease with no name to bite him.

Fun Fact: there's a really funny meta joke in the series Chucky. Ever since Tiffany possessed the body of actress Jenifer Tilly she's had the real Jennifer locked in a cage - inside the Tiffany Doll - and she's forced the doll to record all of her Family Guy lines and send them in to the show producers remotely. 😂😂😂😂
