  Sometimes, cheating is a symptom of an underlying problem that hasn’t been addressed. It doesn’t make the deed right, but both can learn from what happened. Ultimately, the decision to continue depends on both parties.

  There is NO repair. The trust can never be regained. That is human nature. The cheater will cheat again, and again. The cheater is most likely a narcissist. Best to be realistic and move on. My first partner and I were like glue.. always together. Then at age 22, I had to have my wistom teeth removed, so that Friday I was planning to stay home and sleep. My partner lived with his Parents and I lived with mine in NYC. That evening I called Joey, and his mom said he was not home, I called untill 11 PM. then called the next morning at 10:00 am. His mom said Joey never came home that night and she was worried. Well Joey showed up at my house at noon. With lunch and Flowers. I asked where he was, and he actually admitted to meeting a guy from work, for dinner, then spent the night at the guys apartment. I was so shocked, but asked if he had sex with the guy.. Joey said yes. I said get the FN out and never call me again.. I felt stabbed - crushed. Joey continued to call, send flowers, the works. I saw what my future would be, and I walked. I have been in a monogamous marriage for 22 years, we have two sons and live on the beach in NE Florida. Joey is 45, never had a partner and lives in an apartment in the Bronx.. Karma.

  There is no repair.  Once you’ve broken my trust, we are done.  Why the hell would I put myself through the emotional rollercoaster of “his” f*ck-up?  No thank you.  You knew that you were betraying “us” when you chose to lay with the other man.  Always remember that.  You pushed me out of your mind and life in that moment, in order to have sex with someone else. There is no repairing that trust once it’s lost.  Move on because i will, no matter how painful., i would never stay with a cheater.
