It's amazing to see.

It means a lot to me that this has become a space where people are interested in the simple things that keep us healthy and prevent problems before they ever reach the hospital. If there’s a topic you’d like me to explain in a future video, please let me know in the comments.

If you’d like to support me, the best thing you can do is click the like button and subscribe. It really helps these videos reach more people who might benefit from them, and it allows me to keep making them!

My goal with these videos is simple: to help as many people as possible stay healthier and avoid ending up in the emergency department if we can.

And just in case there's any doubt... any AI-generated videos of me are completely fake and not affiliated with me in any way. I’m actively reporting these channels, and I’d encourage you to do the same if you see them.

Dr Alex 😊

"Modern life is almost engineered to make us ill". Never a truer sentence was uttered.
Lengthy commutes, desk-bound jobs, snatched UPF sandwich lunches eaten while staring at the screen, endless cups of coffee to stay alert, a donut or a bag of crisps to counteract the mid-afternoon energy crash, breathing traffic fumes on the way home, a microwaved ready meal at the end of a stressful day, washed down with a couple of glasses of wine to help us relax, then slumping in front of the telly, and a fitful night's sleep worrying about the bills, the boss, the kids... before the whole sorry saga starts again the next day. No wonder we're ageing before our time!

71 years behind me and absolutely the best advice anyone can adhere to. All of my grandparents died after 95. They walked every day. Their food was simple. They did the early to bed early to rise. I’m sure there were other factors involved, but I’ll always remember those.

I'm 60 and it's a really weird feeling for me when you say: picture two people; one of them maybe around 60, who is mentally sharp, and strong (etc). Because, to me, being 60 is no different to being 40. That's not a criticism; it's just that, until someone says it, I forget what it can really mean to be my age!

I'm 60 but it's as though I'm not, in my head. I'm 'better' than I ever have been (except I have to be careful about recovery being optimal, I'll be honest) and so, to me, 60 is just the best me right now.

When I was in my mid-40s a close (overweight) friend said: why do you exercise? Life is too short. I replied that life is too short not to 😂 At that point this friend was napping in the afternoons (said it was her age) and going down the stairs like an old lady.

Unless you're actually ill, you have much more control over these things than you might think.

You'll also be happy to hear that I can now do 40 calf raises. 2 weeks ago starting watching your channel I can barely do 10.

All so true! It's funny, but I hear people complain about our health system, and sure there's plenty to complain about. But when I talk to some of those same people about things like eliminating alcohol, cutting out sugar, reducing carbs, eating whole foods, and getting a bit of exercise I have had some say things like "life isn't worth living" if they have to give up all those things they enjoy. I literally know people in their 50's with cordiovascular problems, elevated blood pressure, high LDL, overweight with sore knees who groan about the doctor not fixing them, but refuse to make any dietary changes. These are not stupid people, but they've spent their lives in a system that convinced them this was the proper way to live.
I'm glad I came around to healthier living personally (and still a long way to go), but it has really opened my eyes to all the desperately unhealthy lives around me. Sad state of affairs.

I appreciate you breaking these down and making them easy to understand; I live in the USA, so I'm worried about the quality of even the fresh food :/ I've seen reports that our fruits, vegetables, and meats have less nutrients than in other countries. I eat whole and healthy meals, all home-cooked, and it's still hard to lose weight, since my job can only be accessed through a car. America is like the perfect storm for bad health.
