  Hardest thing on earth is to be a Hawkeye fan. It sucks and is brutal but every once in awhile they give you pure joy.

  The two point attempt by Michigan in the 4th quarter is really just a math decision, not really a “cocky” decision. They were up 5 and 2 points makes it 7 rather than the 1 point being 6. Given most touchdowns result in 7 (unless you miss the extra point kick, which is very rare) most teams will take the chance to go up by 7 points rather than 6 to make it a tie game if the other team gets a touchdown, given if they miss (as Michigan did) they are still at least up 5 points, meaning Iowa had to score a touchdown either way to take the lead. These are the kind of math/strategy decisions that makes the sport really fun and interesting, as you can see each team’s decisions at the end may have differed if the score was different. Enjoyed the reaction! I think watching the full game got you extra context, hopefully that helps you understand what is happening between plays in other highlights you watch. The main thing I’d suggest is keeping a close eye on the yellow marker on the field. That is the first down marker, and using that in combination with knowing the down and distance to a first down, helps keep track of what is happening and how helpful a play might be for either team!

  The people who bought you that shirt, that is what we call Iowa nice. You notice none of the other teams bought you a shirt that you’re following, just saying. I am 55 and I lived less than an hour east of Iowa city so I have been a Hawkeye fan my whole life. I live in Colorado Springs Colorado now, but I still listen to Gary dolphin and Pat Angerer and every now and then I get lucky and a game will be on TV. But I agree with the one guy who said it’s the hard thing on earth is to be a Hawkeye fan but every now and then they give you some joy. We were all jumping up and down and being stupid crazy when he caught that touchdown pass! GO HAWKS!!! I actually hope you become a lifetime Hawkeye fan. I think that would be great! I would like to thank the people who bought you that shirt and stepping up and showing them how nice Iowa really is. It literally brings a tear to my eye. I love Iowa.

  This was a great win for Iowa. Their defense gets a tough test next week. They are facing one of the best offenses in the country.

  It’s awesome to see a Brit enjoying my Hawkeyes as much as I do. This was a nail biter, but Until the Game is Won. The last time Ohio State was at Kinnick Stadium we beat them 55-24. That game earned the nickname “The Woodshed” and I’m praying we do it again. Go Hawks!
