The Best Gun For Your 1st Gun & Ones To Stay AWAY From!

There is a video still on the internet, made by an honest man giving honest advice, naming the best first handgun a person could buy. His pick was the Sig P320, and at the time that was a defensible answer — the military had just adopted it, departments were issuing it, and the reviews were strong. Since then: more than two hundred reported uncommanded discharges, over a hundred lawsuits, two juries in 2024 finding the design defective, a state attorney general suing for a recall, and several major departments pulling it from service. And on the other side: no recall ever issued, a manufacturer that maintains it cannot fire without a trigger pull, a 2026 defense verdict, appellate dismissals, and hundreds of thousands of military variants in service with no finding of mechanical fault. That fight is not settled — not in court and not in engineering. But what it does to the question everybody asks is the reason for this video. In this one: why reliability stopped being a way to choose between guns. The recoil arithmetic that makes a small light pistol the hardest thing on earth to learn with, and how a flinch gets installed in the first hundred rounds. The hidden cost of a gun you can only shoot fifty rounds through. Why fewer controls is better, and the argument against starting on a double-action. What a modular chassis actually buys you. How to look at a used gun. And the categories to avoid entirely. Then at the end, what a first gun is actually for — and why the qualities that make one good at teaching are almost exactly the opposite of the ones that make it good at hiding. I do not review firearms I have not shot, and there are no recommendations to buy any particular product here. Law on what you may buy, own, and carry varies by state — read your own statutes. Every gun is always loaded. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. Finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you have decided to fire. Know your target and what lies beyond it. If there are children in your home, it is locked. #FirstGun #NewShooter #ConcealedCarry #GunSafety #9mm #FirearmsTraining #HandgunBasics #P320 #ResponsibleGunOwnership #BeginnerShooter #PistolTraining #RecoilControl #TriggerControl #GunAdvice #SafeStorage #RangeDay #GunOwner #Marksmanship #BuyingAGun #PlainLiving
