  The washington national cathedral had a design competition for one of its gargoyals/ grotesques, so now there&apos;s a grotesque of Darth Vader above one of the windows.

  I met Tony DiTeelizzi the illustrator of the Spiderwick books at a convention years ago. &nbsp; He signed some Magic the Gathering cards for me. &nbsp; We talked a bit about the artists that inspired him. &nbsp; He was very nice.

  &quot;I used to stash handfuls of worms in my pockets.&quot; One of my earliest memories is from when I was about 3 years old. I had been shown the wonders of lightening bugs and managed to catch quite a few in the backyard. The memory is seared into my brain because of my mom&apos;s reaction when I said that &quot;I put them in my pockets.&quot; Between my disappointment at finding nothing but glowing globs of goo stuck to my fingers when I tried to show her my collection and my mom&apos;s horror (especially when I wiped my hands clean on my pants!), this is a memory I cannot forget. In my child&apos;s mind, I was sure those bugs would not be harmed by being crammed into my pants pockets.
