  James Brown was the last to leave Elvis'funeral. Elvis hated being called the King he said the only King is Jesus Christ

  I’ve seen many accuse Elvis of racism but any interviews with black people that knew him always said good things.

  He didn't get bigger after he passed. He was always that big. I'm older and I remember from when I can remember anything, Elvis was already a household name and continued to be throughout my life, until he passed. He was always a force and nobody could even imagine him not being there. There is nobody,  NOBODY that can compare. There's not even a way to tell you. He was always larger than life.

  Watch Part 2 as well. Elvis was huge when alive - no doubt about it. He has stayed huge all these decades.

  One of the sweetest stories about Elvis is that he had black friends as a child and called their parents "Sir" and "Ma'am" at a time in the deeply racist South when white people did not, as a rule, show that kind of respect to black people. The parents of his friends loved him because of his respectful attitude to them, even as a young child.

  It&apos;s important to talk about how Elvis credited the artists who came before him. A lot of people who call Elvis a racist or claim he &quot;stole&quot; music don&apos;t seem to know—or care—about the facts. Elvis credited every songwriter for every song he ever recorded, no exceptions. He never stole a lyric, song, or dance move. Instead, Elvis was a creative genius—a visionary song arranger who re-imagined music in ways that connected with young people like no one else could back then, regardless of race.<br><br>Take someone like Bach, often considered the greatest composer ever. All he did was reinterpret the music of his time better than anyone else. The same applies to Elvis. Black artists like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Otis Blackwell loved working with him. Elvis didn’t just record their songs—he paid for song rights, sent royalty checks from his sales, and boosted their record sales as fans sought out the original versions.<br><br>That gave Black songwriters three new income streams:<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;--Payment for song rights.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp;--Royalties from Elvis’ record sales.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp;--Increased sales of their own music.<br><br>This is how Elvis helped break down racial barriers in the music business. He opened the door for everyone, even while record labels—black and white—were exploiting their own artists.<br><br>Look at Big Mama Thornton, for example. She got $500 for her work on &quot;Hound Dog,&quot; thanks to Don Robey, a black record exec who exploited her illiteracy. He made her sign away all profits, mismanaged her career, and pocketed millions that should’ve been hers. Big Mama tragically died nearly penniless because of this corruption.<br><br>Meanwhile, Elvis’ approach uplifted the original artists and brought their work to a global audience. It’s a legacy worth recognizing and celebrating.

  Elvis was born so poor, even white people looked down on his family.....If ever there was a white man that understood the black experience...it was Elvis Presley.....
