There is a campaign called legacy you can only unlock by going to the sandbox map called legacy and finding all 16 unlockable units on it.

34:46 The Jarls actually have an ability called, "Enrage," which is the glowing red wisps around them that occasionally show up. They show up when the Jarl is close to death and keep him temporarily invincible until the Jarl looses its redness

Jarls had a large buff, from a cost of 850 to 1500, and gained their two abilities, the ice arena and enrage. However, the campaign levels including jarls were not updated, making them quite a bit harder.

Some Christmas units can be found in the map that reskins the Farmer Factions Map.
Behind the building with the water wheel, see be a sniw glibe to unlock the winter map.
Also the Dynasty map has several units spread out across it, Greek Sandbox, and other factions.
Look in the nooks, crannies, gutters, and through shallow walls to find em' all.
