  Yes it is! Because recently I understood that old games were made by “gamers” who were so nerdy that went on to make games themselves. But modern games are mostly made by corporate workers just following the regular corporate directions. Those decisions are never up to them. So when you play an old game, you really feel it was made by other gamers like you who really loved gaming.

  This is exactly why I’m going down a retro rabbit whole.  No annoying updates, required internet connection, DRM issues. I just turn on the console and it just freakin works, no rigmarole.  Let’s take our games back!

  I got my first NES in 87 when I was 16 and Zelda. I'm 54 and still play video games. I own a Series X but also have a Wii U, 3ds XL's and OG Aqua Blue 3ds that's modded, DSI XL, Vita OLED, PS 2 and Neo Geo Mini with Controllers. I use my R36 MAX and Anbernic OLED handheld RG5O5 for Emulation upscaled resolution and optimized gameplay for PSP games and all the Rest. I Collect Physical Media and Games so my game room is filled with Retro systems and games. My Series X has four Generations of games on One console. I don't have Any Kids to connect with or anything else. Just an Old School Man who's Retired. Never be Ashamed of who YOU are. You're Special and Deserve to be Happy. Have a Wonderful Sunday.😊

  I'm going back replaying Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's a game I like to play at least once a year. Pure dopamine drip for me!

  Those of us who intentionally buy old vehicles have known this for years. The same mentality applies kind of universally. I’ve never considered myself a gamer, with the caveat that since 2017 I’ve gone pretty hard on barcades. Always keep one foot firmly in the analog world, people!

  I was walking around Target and I heard two employees talking about Mafia for the ps2 and it shocked me that they were about 19 year old, but yet here they were talking about a ps2 game that I grew up with. I had to ask "Mafia? , the old game? " they said "yeah!" and then I shared how I was a QA for Activision, and such, and shared some stories and they called me a "legend" lol, it was quite refreshing, rather than the new gen thinking I was a boomer, here they were saying old games were cool! I then realized it wasn't just me who had lost interest in modern gaming, but it simply was that games were just not made the same again.
