The Bioshock “good” ending is one of the best video game endings of all time in my opinion. It was emotionally satisfying and it made the entire game feel worthwhile.

I think super Mario world 2 yoshis island is perfect for this . It autosaves after every level even on the original cart . It’s perfect . I’ll normally play a stage or 2 before bed. Also the game is beautiful

SoR2 and Golden Axe are probably my go to time water when I don't have much time left. Been playing those games for almost 30 years now lol. Still does it for me

Super Metroid and the metric ton of hacks made for it are a recurrent theme in my Steam Deck. It's been my favorite game of all time ever since it was released, and it's crazy I continue to come back to it 30+ years later.

While Metroid wasn't my first game I beat on the NES (that milestone belongs to Super Mario Bros.) It absolutely was the first game I beat that showed me that amazing feeling of accomplishment over the truly difficult challenge that video games can be.
