after the planedemic games and consoles that sold for .50$ have gone up almost 1000%. its like resellers have taken everything that brings me joy and nostalgia and turned it into rare a collectable. and then social media has given a platform to people showcasing games and consoles to increase peoples perception of value.

another thing is to only buy what you like and actually want to play. this will save you money and time. don't just chase games for the sake of it.

Man TMNT is so nostalgic. Loved seeing that. Discovering new retro games is great. I’ve tried quite a lot of games that I never saw / played back in the day and discovered new favourites as a result. We are definitely buying back a physical object that relates to a particular memory / moment in time. Nostalgia is expensive 😅

There are a total of one reasons prices for Anything go up.

You keep paying. Unless something rises beyond what people will pay, it goes up. Sometimes even more if the customer loss can be offset by profit per sale.

People kind of used to do the opposite.

A week ago I bought a copy of Castlevania Symphony of the night for $200 that's also what price charting had it at , in two days it went from $200 to $187 bummed out i hope it doesn't keep going down .im a ps1 collector especially uncommon rare and grails and I watch price charting closely and alot of my gems have been dipping.

I have my OG copy of ocarina of time and majoras mask. Those game are pry them from my cold dead hands kind of titales. But great video! My collection philosophy is ill pick up games i want and i may never play them and thats okay i would rather have it and never play it then not have it when i want to. I have over 600 games physically between a bunch of consols and handhelds personally and i love them all! I am trying to curate my collection a bit more and keep games i actually like but for the most part im not getting rid of any
