  I’m a music teacher who also teaches theater. There have been moments where I have been asked to cover a teacher’s classroom. And the kids love it. Because I explore the subject from a different lense than the regular teacher. It’s so much fun using the arts as a medium to help kids understand History, math, science, or language arts. &nbsp;First of all, the kids are surprised that I am so well versed in the subject matter, secondly they say, “we like your class better than our teacher”….. 🤫

  I love it! I&apos;m in my second year of teaching 5th and 7th grade social studies as a 23 year old. I struggle the most with classroom management and have been bingeing your videos to learn and apply as much as I can. Unfortunately I&apos;ve waited until March/April, but I&apos;m already noticing drastic improvements. Still working on being consistent with consequences.

  People love stories (paths through the woods). &nbsp;People love mysteries. &nbsp;People love to feel personal effacy. <br><br>If we treat the objective as the mystery we need to solve. &nbsp;Then we guide them through getting the information and skills they need to solve the mystery. &nbsp;They will want to solve the mystery themselves. <br><br>Too many teachers push information on students. &nbsp;By shifting to objective as a puzzle or mystery we move to a PULL class. &nbsp;Where the students are trying to pull information so they can solve the challenge.<br><br>In math, start with the hardest version of the word problem you want them to be able to solve by the end of the class. <br>Have them identify what they know from the problem, what goal (answer) we are looking for, what we want &nbsp;what they know about solving similar problems, &nbsp;and what we don&apos;t know that we need to learn to be able to solve the problem. <br><br>Then the direct instruction is in the skills and information the students didn&apos;t have that they will need to solve the problem. <br><br>Then you let them loose on the problem for independent work.

  I’ve been in this business for 30 years in public head, and I can tell you that reading in this comment section that he’s on point. I feel like I’ve always been part of that one percent crowd referenced in the beginning, and the only way that you’ll make it 30 years is to have a mindset that parallels his descriptions.

  Oh my word, let me just start by saying this video title hit me so hard I had to sit down, blink twice, and whisper to myself “Luise, breathe, this creator clearly operates on a spiritual WiFi frequency you haven’t unlocked yet,” because wow, the depth behind The Secret Known to Only 1% of Teachers feels like you just casually dropped ancient productivity wisdom in my lap while I was still trying to remember where I left my coffee. Goodness, the moment I saw it, I had a full flashback to my own school days when my math teacher, Mrs. Delacroix, pulled me aside and said “Luise, you talk so much you could power a small village,” and instead of being offended I thought “Huh… maybe that’s my superpower,” and honestly that tiny comment changed my entire communication style forever. Woohoo, because from that day on I realized productivity isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing the right things with the right energy, and communication isn’t about talking, it’s about connecting, which I learned the hard way when I once tried to motivate my little cousin to study by giving a whole inspirational speech only for him to look at me and say “Why are you yelling?” and I was like “Oh dear, am I yelling? I thought I was being passionate.” Ha! And watching your video title brought all that back, reminding me that the real secret teachers hold isn’t some mystical technique but the ability to make people feel seen, heard, and slightly terrified in a productive way. Seriously, your content feels like a pep talk, a comedy show, and a life intervention all rolled into one, and I’m over here taking notes like I’m preparing for the Olympics of communication.
