  When I was doing a high energy experiment at NIST, my oscilloscope detected a 10 microvolt signal 10 microseconds before the energy discharge. I was able to repeat and record this abnormality any number of times. I contacted the equipment manufactures and asked if such a signal could bleed out before the trigger pulse and they all said that was impossible.  The only thing that was possible was energy was pushed into negative time, the past. I told the PhD I was working under and he said, 'leave it alone. that is not what we are paid to investigate.' I moved on but I did not forget.

  I think the best use of quantum computers is to gather lots of investment funding to keep some people employed for a while.

  Side note: I love that your monitor is legitimately the same size as, and blocking, your window lol hopefully to remind you to look up and outside at times. I miss seeing the outside when looking at screens all day.

  This vid took a wildly different direction than I was expecting 😂 I work in QC, still basically true that besides factoring, our algorithms are surprisingly unsophisticated. Making money from anything a QC is capable of is worlds away; may never happen

  "And then I ran out of cloud credits." That was an LoL moment. Thanks for the entertainment. And so far as I know, your science explanation is on-target. (I wrote about quantum computing for Wired magazine about 30 years ago, when I interviewed Seth Lloyd, a wonderful guy who was a QC evangelist when most people didn't take it seriously. He wrote a book about it which is worth reading.)
