I hope they don’t make Lucious into too much of a victim where we feel bad for him and Voldemort

So excited to see more inner stories like the Malfoys! I like the trajectory that the series and HBO are taking

as long as it is an upgrade and not a change, I like the direction.

Anyone who heard Paapa Essiedu voice in the new trailer and did not feel the ("manufactured") hate, does not fathom Snivellus!!!

What I really hope, is that we see a more nyanced version of the slytherins. I hope that not all slytherins are just evil, like in the books. The worst ones should stay bad, but I hope we see more why (like malfoys relationship to his father, as you said). And that we see more non-evil behaviour from the rest. The way slytherin=evil in the books feels unnatural to me.

I also expect to see more of neville, snape, sirius and thr teachers

I’m beyond excited to see the HBO series explore not only Harry and the others’ stories that were left out of the movies, but also all the unexplored sides of characters like Lucius Malfoy and Professor Sprout that we didn’t get to see much of in the books or films!

Johnny Flynn is such a wonderfully nuanced actor. I'm looking forward to seeing his interpretation.

It would be pretty on point for Lucius to have been raised to be the man he became by a father who was just like he has become to Draco. But I also feel there is a likelihood that Lucius is probably "kinder" to his son than his father was to him. If I have to guess, Lucius was raised by a cruel father who considered him weak, and he had to prove himself every day, Draco on the other hand seems pampered, he actually seems to admire his father.

If they can introduce Lucius in season 1 then they can introduce Luna in season 2

I really like what I’m hearing. I know a lot of fans just want like a word for word book to series adaptation but I don’t need that and think the show can actually better as its own standalone thing apart from the books in many ways if it takes some liberties with the source material.

It may sound blasphemous to Harry Potter book fans but I’m a huge fan of the books and would still say they aren’t perfect.
That doesn’t mean I want them to radically change characters or events , I’d hope Flynn’s interpretation of Lucius still feels and acts like I imagine he is in the books to a large extent , I’m just not one who believes different from source material =bad
