  My favourite Michael Gambon story is that when [spoilers] they were filming Dumbledore&apos;s death scene Tom Felton kept getting his lines wrong. They paused filming for a bit and Tom joined Michael for a smoke break and said how sorry he was that he kept getting it wrong. Michael replied &apos;My dear boy, do you know how much a day they&apos;re paying me to be here?   As a child, I didn&apos;t notice the change, but I did notice that Dumbledore definitely began to look a little tired.

  It’s so strange watching Alan Rickman talk about Richard Harris who was dead, knowing that he too now is dead. <br><br>I don’t know how to describe it. It’s not sad or macabre, it’s just sort of surreal seeing actors having passed on talk about someone else the way people talk about them also now.

  One side note, is I think, the timing. IF Harris wasn&apos;t going to be with us for the full run, then between the 2nd and 3rd films was as perfect as possible. The tone truely shifts, making it a good place to slip a new actor in. Imagine had it been after film 5. A new actor has to full the shoes of a much more established Dumbledore, AND sell his death all in the space of one film, then isn&apos;t seen again until the utterly vital mindspace King&apos;s Cross scene. I think anyone, even Gambon would have struggled to deal with such a task.

  My favourite Richard Harris story is that when he became ill and was being taken to the ambulance, when they wheeled him out of his hotel for the last time he started yelling &apos;IT WAS THE FOOD!&apos;

  Richard Harris not living to play Dumbledore throughout the rest of the films is something I will always be sad about everyone missing out on. He respected the source material and played a more faithful version of Dumbledore, and I wish we could&apos;ve seen what he would&apos;ve done with the character throughout the rest of the films.
