  This is great for me because I’m remaking a Crusader Kings 2 mod in CK3 about Hellenization going farther and being more intense. For people reading the comments who likes those games the CK2 mod is called Lux Invicta and my mod is called Lux Renatus. Sorry if this is considered me peddling my wares lol. Thanks for the video!

  I went down the Bactrian rabbit hole a few years ago and came away thinking the climate and landscape must have been entirely different in that age. It's so desolate now, it's hard to fathom how such vibrant cities existed for so long.

  When I was in Afghanistan, I saw all sorts of ruined forts and what I could clearly identify as a tell, the top of which was transformed into a military patrol base for the ANA, but I could find no information on the ruins. What I can tell you is that there are a plethora of archeological ruins that have never been properly documented.

  I'm a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. When I was in Qalat Province in 2019, I could see a big wall around a hill just a couple miles from my defensive position. Come to find out, that wall belonged to a castle complex that is believed to have been built by Alexander that great. That was a sobering moment: I was a member of the world strongest military fighting in a country that had been the ruin of many of the world's strongest militaries for many millenia. The more things change, the more they stay the same, I suppose.

  Thank you for making the effort to do the narration yourself. So much better to listen to.<br>Its crazy to think about how long these cities founded by Alexander lasted. And what an interesting culture it must have been, mixing the Indian, central Asian and Greek cultures and religions. Fascinating.
